Andrea Hines
Andrea Hines has ten years of teaching experience at the high school level. She holds a BA in English and an MA in Humanities. Having taught in both Fairfax County, VA and New York City she brings a unique perspective to education reporting. She taught at every level of high school curricula, gifted and talented, ESL transitional, International Baccalaureate (IB), and creative writing. For several years she served as an assistant examiner for IB language A1 exams and freelance graded for the College Board the first year they added an essay to the SAT. She offers articles on high school English and ELA teaching, teacher-to-parent and teacher-to-community relations, poetry writing, SAT and IB essay preparation and evaluation, and international exchanges. Quite possibly could offer articles on workplace writing and tips for executive assistants. Now working as a faculty affairs specialist at a large academic medical center, she studies, writes and reviews poetry.
